About

My name is John Richards, owner of Richards Homes. I grew up working on construction sites with my Dad, helping with anything from setting cabinets to sweeping floors. After being surrounded by it for so long, I knew I wanted to have a career in the real estate/construction field when I was older. This led to me attending the University of Illinois and receiving my bachelor's degree in finance with the intention of working my way up a commercial real estate firm. However, after working for a few years post-college and fully gut-rehabbing the first home of my wife Hannah and I, I realized I couldn't shake the desire to be back on-site working with my hands. I do a wide variety of jobs, from knocking out laundry list tasks to more involved remodeling projects. My goal is to bring you the high quality of work I've learned through experience along with unparalleled professionalism and communication.
